In 2023, a total of 40,490 people in Azerbaijan were registered with medical institutions for drug dependency, according to the statistical compendium “Healthcare, Social Protection and Housing Conditions in Azerbaijan.”
The data shows that 36,659 individuals were placed on medical records specifically for drug addiction.

In addition, in 2024, medical institutions reported 2,492 people registered for toxicomania and 7,738 individuals for occasional drug use.
