Baku, August 2025
In the first half of 2025, BP and its joint-venture partners, for whom it acts as operator, invested approximately $0.7 million in social projects across Azerbaijan. According to a company statement, this marks an increase of $0.2 million — or 40% — compared to the same period last year.
Over the first six months, the initiatives included 17 ongoing educational programs and one project aimed at developing local skills and fostering entrepreneurship.
Separately, BP allocated around $0.4 million in the first half of the year to projects it sponsors directly in Azerbaijan. These included 19 educational initiatives, one entrepreneurship and skills development project, five environmental programs, and support for seven conferences and seminars on various topics — totaling 32 projects overall.
BP’s social investments in Azerbaijan have long focused on education, environmental protection, and community development, aligning with the company’s broader sustainability commitments in the Caspian region.
