BAKU, Aug 12 — As of July 1, 2025, the number of salaried employees in Azerbaijan stood at 1.77 million, according to the State Statistics Committee. Of these, 864,200 were employed in the public sector and 906,600 in the private sector.
By sector, 18.8% worked in trade and vehicle repair, 18.3% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.5% in healthcare and social services, 6.7% in construction, 6.3% in public administration, defense, and social security, 4.2% in transport and storage, 3.9% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and 2.3% in finance and insurance. The remaining 14.8% were employed in other areas of the economy.
In the first half of 2025, the country’s average monthly nominal wage increased by 9.4% year-on-year, reaching 1,097.3 manats.
