BAKU, August 11 — Baku’s subway system continues to expand accessibility services for passengers with disabilities, but a shift to 24-hour operations is not on the table, the Baku Metro CJSC has confirmed.
Responding to a request from Baku.ws, metro officials said the Accessible Metro program — designed to ensure safe and convenient travel for people with disabilities — is being steadily upgraded, with new features and improvements still underway.
However, the operating hours of stations are set in accordance with technical and operational regulations. Overnight closures, officials stressed, are essential for tunnel inspections, servicing, and repair work.
“For these reasons, transitioning to a round-the-clock schedule is impossible,” the statement said.
