Parents Complain of Overheating in Baku Kindergartens Amid Lack of Air Conditioning

Baku, August 8 – The Baku City Education Department says preschool staff regularly ventilate rooms when temperatures rise above recommended levels, following complaints from parents about the lack of cooling systems in some kindergartens during hot weather.

Several parents told Report that their children often come home soaked in sweat due to the absence of air conditioning in group rooms.

“Every evening when we pick up our child, they are literally drenched. Why do the directors’ offices have air conditioning, but not the rooms where children spend the day? Shouldn’t the children be comfortable?” one parent asked.

In its response, the department stated that air temperature in preschool facilities is maintained within permissible limits according to current regulations, and that rooms are aired regularly to create a healthy learning environment.

The agency added that, when necessary, requests are sent to relevant authorities to equip classrooms with additional cooling equipment.
