Tovuz, August 8 – Information about possible illegal actions against a minor girl in the Tovuz district has been taken under control by law enforcement agencies. This was announced by Police Major Eshgin Gasimov, inspector of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ölkə.az reports.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a procedural investigation has been launched in connection with the reports received. The relevant examinations have been appointed, a comprehensive investigation is being conducted, and all the circumstances of the incident are being thoroughly examined. Additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
Teymur Mardanoglu, head of the press service of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children, confirmed in response to a journalist’s inquiry that he had received information about the incident. According to him, the Committee has already contacted the Tovuz District Police Department, which confirmed the incident.
“Tomorrow, we will contact the relevant authorities and begin investigating the case with the participation of our Committee,” Mardanoglu said.
It should be noted that journalist Arif Aliyeva previously published information on social media about systematic sexual acts committed by a 25-year-old fellow villager against an 11-year-old girl in the Tovuz district.
The investigation is ongoing, and official authorities are urging people to refrain from jumping to conclusions until confirmed data is available.
