President Donald Trump has announced that a landmark peace summit will take place at the White House on August 8, bringing together Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the signing of a historic peace agreement.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump called the summit a turning point for the South Caucasus and a moment of global significance.

“These two Nations have been at War for many years, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people. Many Leaders have tried to end the War, with no success, until now, thanks to ‘TRUMP,’” he stated.

Trump emphasized that his administration has been closely engaged with both sides for a long time and that the agreement marks the result of sustained diplomacy.

Economic Cooperation on the Agenda

In addition to the peace deal, the United States will sign separate bilateral agreements with both Armenia and Azerbaijan aimed at unlocking economic opportunities in the region and fostering long-term cooperation.

“I am very proud of these courageous Leaders for doing the right thing for the Great People of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Trump said.
“It will be a Historic Day for Armenia, Azerbaijan, the United States, and THE WORLD.”

President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan are already in Washington, D.C. ahead of the summit, which is scheduled to take place today at the White House.

If successful, the summit could mark a dramatic shift in regional dynamics and position the U.S. as a central player in securing peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus.
