Portuguese Striker André Clóvis Set to Join Qarabağ as Gabala Parts Ways with Nigerian Forward

Portuguese forward André Clóvis is reportedly close to signing with Qarabağ FK, the reigning champions of Azerbaijan.

According to Sport24.az, Clóvis is expected to join the Baku-based club ahead of their upcoming UEFA playoff matches. The player is scheduled to arrive in Baku soon for a medical examination.

Clóvis, currently under contract with Académico de Viseu until June 30, 2028, has previously played for Internacional, Leixões, and Estoril Praia.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijani club Gabala FK has officially parted ways with Nigerian striker Abdullahi Shuaibu. The club’s press service confirmed that the contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

Shuaibu joined the “Red and Blacks” in the summer of 2024, making 29 appearances and scoring eight goals during his tenure.
