Georgia is prepared to help facilitate dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during a meeting with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan on the sidelines of the UN conference of landlocked developing countries in Turkmenistan, Armenian media report.
Kobakhidze stressed that such efforts would contribute to stability and peace in the region, which he described as critically important.
“The joint statement by Armenia and Azerbaijan on completing discussions of a peace treaty is an important step in this direction,” he noted.

The two sides also discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields. Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili also took part in the meeting.
