EU Plans Sanctions Against China Over Alleged Support for Russia

The European Union is preparing to impose sanctions on China over claims it has supplied components for drones used by Russia in the war in Ukraine, Politico reported, citing a European diplomat.

“After August, we will push for sanctions. We want dialogue and concrete action,” the diplomat said.

Western media earlier alleged that Russian imports of Chinese-made drone engines were disguised as industrial refrigeration units to circumvent existing Western sanctions.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the U.S. and EU have imposed multiple sanctions on Chinese companies accused of supporting Russia’s defense industry. Beijing has consistently rejected the allegations, calling them baseless.
