SPLIT, August 1, 2025 — Azerbaijan’s Zira FC has concluded its run in the UEFA Conference League after a hard-fought extra-time loss to Croatian side Hajduk Split in the second qualifying round.
The match at Poljud Stadium saw Hajduk take the lead in the 19th minute through midfielder Filip Krovinović. Zira’s Issa Djibrilla leveled the score deep into stoppage time (90+3), pushing the tie into extra time.
However, Hajduk responded quickly in the 93rd minute with a decisive goal from Yassine Benrahou, sealing a 2–1 victory and sending the Croatian side through to the next round.
Zira exits the competition with heads held high after a spirited effort on foreign soil.
