Shahin Shykhlynski, who heads the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, has been declared wanted after losing contact.
This information was reported to URA.RU by an informed source.
Unofficial reports suggest that today, searches were carried out in his apartment in Yekaterinburg.
A second informant speculates that Shykhlynski may be suspected of committing a crime under Article 318 (use of violence against a representative of the authorities) of the Russian Criminal Code, the same article as his son, Mutvaly, who was detained the day before.
“According to the available information, it was Shahin who instructed his son to retreat,” the source claims.
To recall, the incident occurred during the detention when Mutvaly Shykhlynski, driving a Mercedes, ran over a law enforcement officer.
It was also reported today that the Sverdlovsk Regional Court of the Russian Federation upheld the preventive measure for M. Shykhlynski. The head of the diaspora’s son will remain in custody until September 14, 2025.
“Shykhlynski and his lawyer appealed the first-instance court ruling. After reviewing the case materials and hearing the parties’ views, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court left the ruling of the Lenin District Court of Yekaterinburg unchanged. M. Shykhlynski will remain in custody until September 14, 2025,” the court’s official statement reads.
According to the official database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, he is wanted under a criminal code article.
