Following Ali Akbar Velayati’s statement, the senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, who framed the Zangezur Corridor as a blockade against Russia and Iran, Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov also issued a strong statement opposing the project, suggesting that its realization should be prevented.
The recent intensification of rhetoric from both Iran and Russia against Azerbaijan, especially around the Zangezur Corridor, raises significant questions about the strategic goals behind these positions and what this might mean for the region’s future.

As he noted, the Zangezur Corridor is a symbol, and the key issue is the opening of communications in the region, a reality that is already taking shape.
