The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has approved amendments to the legislation on investment activities in artificial territories, allowing the organization of casinos on these sites.
The President approved relevant changes to the Civil, Criminal, and Administrative Codes, as well as laws on “Information, Informatization, and Information Protection,” “State Duties,” “Advertising,” “Licenses and Permits,” “Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing,” and “Creation of Artificial Land Parcels in the Caspian Sea (Lake) Belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to prepare and submit proposals to the President of Azerbaijan within six months to improve regulatory legal acts related to the organization and conduct of casino gambling, taking into account best international practices.
