Young men pursuing vocational education are granted deferment from military conscription under specific conditions.
This right is enshrined in Article 21.1.2 of the Law ‘On Military Duty and Military Service’ of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the provisions of the law, conscripts enrolled in vocational education institutions who have not completed secondary education before entering these educational institutions are guaranteed deferment from compulsory military service. Such deferment is valid until the individual reaches 20 years of age, ensuring uninterrupted educational progress.
It is important to emphasize that this deferment right applies exclusively to individuals meeting the above conditions. After reaching the age of 20, military conscription remains mandatory for such citizens in accordance with existing legislation.
