ZAGREB, July 25, 2025 — Azerbaijan’s student futsal team has reached the final of the European Universities Futsal Championship, moving within striking distance of a historic title.
Representing the nation is the team from the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, the reigning champions of the 2024/2025 Student League season.
In a commanding semifinal performance, the Azerbaijani side defeated tournament favorites Spain with a resounding 5–1 victory, securing their place in the final match.
The team’s participation in the championship has been organized by the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation, with the support of AFFA, the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers, the Association of Sports Trade Union Organizations of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.
The championship is taking place in Zagreb, Croatia, from July 17 to 25.
