BAKU, July 24
Oil transportation through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline across Turkish territory saw a year-on-year decline in the first half of 2025, according to figures released by Turkey’s state pipeline company BOTAŞ.
Between January and June, BTC moved 105.806 million barrels of oil through Turkey — a drop of 4.344 million barrels, or 3.9%, compared to the same period in 2024.
In June alone, the pipeline carried 17.296 million barrels, marking a sharper decline of 1.620 million barrels or 8.6% compared to June 2024.
To recall, total BTC oil transit through Turkey reached 224.142 million barrels in 2024.
The BTC pipeline primarily transports crude oil from Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. It also carries additional volumes of crude and condensate, including oil sourced from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
