ISTANBUL, July 23, 2025 — Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on the sidelines of the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF-2025) in Turkey.
According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense’s Public Relations and Media Department, the meeting took place in Istanbul and focused on enhancing military collaboration between the two nations.
The officials emphasized that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are rooted in mutual trust, strategic partnership, and deep cultural ties. They reviewed the current state of military cooperation and exchanged detailed views on initiatives aimed at strengthening defense relations further.
Discussions also included potential avenues for expanding cooperation in defense technology, training, and joint exercises, highlighting the shared commitment to regional stability and strategic alignment.
