Istanbul, July 22, 2025 — Turkey has officially introduced its first hypersonic ballistic missile, the “TAYFUN BLOK-4,” at the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) held in Istanbul.
Developed by Turkish defense giant ROKETSAN, the TAYFUN BLOK-4 marks a significant milestone in the country’s advanced weapons capabilities. According to information released at the exhibition, the missile measures 10 meters in length, has a diameter of 938 mm, and weighs approximately 7,200 kilograms.
While full technical specifications remain classified, analysts suggest that the TAYFUN series of short-range ballistic missile systems can be configured to reach distances between 300 and 1,000 kilometers, depending on the payload and propulsion upgrades.
The unveiling of the TAYFUN BLOK-4 reinforces Turkey’s growing ambitions in the global defense arena, showcasing indigenous technologies that push the boundaries of speed, range, and precision.
