Azerbaijan’s state budget received 9.53 billion manats in oil and gas revenues between January and June 2025 — 2.7% above projections and 8.3% higher than in the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The oil and gas sector accounted for 48.1% of total budget revenues during the reporting period, underscoring its continued importance to the national economy.
Of the total oil and gas revenues, 24% (2.29 billion manats) came from tax collections, while the remaining 76% (7.24 billion manats) were transfers from the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) to the state budget.
Within the tax contributions, 52.7% (1.2 billion manats) came from profit tax on the Shah Deniz gas field, 39.2% (897.6 million manats) from taxes paid by SOCAR, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, and 8.1% (184.6 million manats) from profit tax paid by AIOC (Azerbaijan International Operating Company).
The figures highlight the sector’s strong performance in the first half of the year, driven by stable production and robust fiscal transfers from SOFAZ.
