Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has publicly thanked former U.S. President Donald Trump for reposting a segment of his speech delivered at the Shusha Global Media Forum.
In a message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Aliyev expressed gratitude for Trump’s support and for highlighting Azerbaijan’s partnership with the United States.
“I would like to thank President Donald Trump for sharing my remarks on U.S.–Azerbaijan partnership and his commitment to a peaceful agenda — both globally and in our region — as expressed during the Shusha Global Media Forum,” Aliyev wrote.

He went on to emphasize Azerbaijan’s support for Trump’s vision and diplomatic efforts: “We stand behind President Trump’s efforts to promote peace and stability around the world, including in our region. We also share common values such as the importance of family traditions, and we hope that under his presidency, U.S.–Azerbaijan relations will reach a new level.”
Aliyev concluded his message by wishing Trump success in his efforts toward strengthening bilateral ties.
The post comes amid growing attention to the role of media diplomacy and international partnerships in the South Caucasus, as Azerbaijan positions itself as a strategic player in regional affairs.
