Iranian President Forced to Take Taxi After Convoy Vehicles Break Down Due to Tainted Fuel

TEHRAN, July 17 — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was forced to continue his journey in a private taxi after several vehicles in his motorcade broke down due to contaminated fuel, Iranian outlet NasrNews reported.

According to presidential inspector Mostafa Molavi, the incident occurred during an unofficial visit to the city of Tabriz. Three cars in the president’s convoy were refueled at a gas station in Qazvin Province with petrol that had reportedly been mixed with water. The tainted fuel caused the vehicles to malfunction before reaching their destination.

As a result, President Pezeshkian completed the journey to Tabriz by hiring a private taxi.

The report noted that the president took no formal action in response to the incident, choosing instead to continue his trip without fanfare.

The episode has drawn attention on Iranian social media, where some users praised the president’s calm and unpretentious response, while others raised concerns about fuel quality control and potential sabotage.
