WASHINGTON, July 14, 2025 — U.S. President Donald Trump expressed optimism that the long-standing conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia will soon be fully and peacefully resolved.
Speaking at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Washington, Trump said that the United States had played a role in advancing the peace process and that these efforts are expected to yield “a good result.”
“We’ve worked hard to help bring Azerbaijan and Armenia to the table, and I believe this will lead to a successful and lasting resolution,” he stated.
Trump’s remarks come amid increased international attention on the South Caucasus, as both Baku and Yerevan signal readiness to finalize a peace deal following months of negotiations facilitated by Western and regional powers.
