July 13, Baku — Azerbaijan’s U-18 women’s basketball team wrapped up its maiden European Championship Division B campaign with a 54–67 loss to Luxembourg in the placement match for 11th–12th place, according to İdman.biz.
Despite the defeat, the tournament marked a significant milestone for the team, which finished 12th out of 21 participating nations in its debut appearance at this level of international competition.
The result highlights both the challenges and promise of Azerbaijan’s youth basketball program as it continues to gain experience on the European stage.
