Azerbaijani weightlifters Isa Rustamov and Dadash Dadashbeyli delivered standout performances at the Kakhi Cup 2025, a top-tier international weightlifting tournament held in Georgia, İdman.biz reports.
Competing against some of Europe’s strongest athletes, Rustamov secured a bronze medal with a combined lift of 321 kg — 145 kg in the snatch and 176 kg in the clean and jerk. His total ranked among the top three based on the Sinclair coefficient, a widely used formula that accounts for body weight in weightlifting scoring.
Dadashbeyli finished sixth overall with a total of 392 kg (184 kg + 208 kg), a result that also earned him a placement medal, as awards were presented to the top six lifters under the Sinclair system.
The tournament featured elite competitors from across the continent, including Turkish champions Yusuf Genç and Kaan Kahraman, further highlighting the significance of Azerbaijan’s strong showing on the regional stage.
