Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated that Ankara is closely following the ongoing peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, reaffirming his country’s commitment to regional stability in the South Caucasus.
According to the Turkish leader’s office, Erdoğan made the comments during a phone conversation with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He expressed strong support for the peace process launched in Abu Dhabi and underscored Turkey’s role in promoting calm and reconciliation in the region.
“We are paying close attention to the peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and we will continue to support efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace in the South Caucasus,” Erdoğan said.
During the call, Erdoğan also highlighted Turkey’s efforts to eliminate terrorism from both the national and regional agenda, describing them as “a significant step toward broader regional stability.” President Al Nahyan echoed the sentiment, stating that this process would contribute meaningfully to regional security and expressing hope for a successful conclusion.
Beyond regional diplomacy, Erdoğan emphasized the growing strategic partnership between Turkey and the UAE, particularly in sectors such as defense and emerging technologies. He noted that bilateral cooperation is yielding tangible results and holds vast potential for further expansion.
The conversation reflects Ankara’s desire to maintain an influential role in post-conflict developments between Baku and Yerevan while deepening its ties with Gulf partners amid broader geopolitical realignments.
