Azerbaijani national team defender Rahil Mammadov is set to return home after an underwhelming spell in Polish football. According to Oxu.Az, the 29-year-old has reached an agreement with Premier League side Turan Tovuz.
Mammadov, who moved to Poland in January 2014, most recently played for Radomiak Radom. While he initially secured a spot in the starting lineup, tensions with the head coach eventually led to his exclusion from the squad.
Despite having one year remaining on his contract with the Polish club, Turan Tovuz has reportedly finalized terms for his transfer. An official announcement is expected in the coming days.
Mammadov’s return marks a full circle in his career, as he looks to revive his form and leadership back in the Azerbaijani league.
