Moscow, July 10 — The Kremlin has welcomed the direct dialogue held today between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Abu Dhabi, describing it as a positive step toward lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
Speaking to reporters at a press briefing, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said:
“We certainly support the fact that direct dialogue is taking place. We have repeatedly stated — at various levels — that we would welcome a swift conclusion of a peace agreement.”

The comments reflect Russia’s continuing interest in remaining involved in the evolving Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process, even as other international actors, including the European Union, the United States, and regional powers like the UAE, increasingly engage in mediation efforts.
