The Armenian Parliament has stripped opposition MP Artur Sargsyan (from the Hayastan faction) of his parliamentary immunity.
According to Armenian media, the motion submitted by the Prosecutor General received 62 votes in favor.
Sargsyan now faces criminal prosecution in connection with the case involving Bagrat Galstanyan, the former mayor of Sisian (also known as Karakilisa) and an archbishop, who was previously detained on charges of attempting to seize power by force.
This development marks a deepening of the political standoff in Armenia, where tensions between the government and opposition forces continue to escalate.
