Armenian investigators and security personnel completed a search at the headquarters of Electric Networks of Armenia, a company associated with detained Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan.
According to company director David Gazinyan, no evidence was found during the search of the office of Narek Karapetyan, the chairman of the board and Samvel Karapetyan’s nephew.
Following the search, Narek Karapetyan was taken into custody. Speaking to reporters before his detention, he described the ongoing investigation as pressure but said that arrests have become a common occurrence in Armenia.
Earlier, law enforcement officers also conducted a search at Narek Karapetyan’s residence.
The investigation appears to be part of broader legal proceedings involving the Karapetyan family and their business interests in Armenia.
