Contrary to recent media reports, Russian tour operators are not seeing a significant drop in bookings for travel to Azerbaijan, the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI) told RBC.
According to the RUTI press service, some outlets — including the Association of Travel Agencies — claimed that tour bookings to Azerbaijan had dropped by 30–40%. However, industry checks found no evidence to support that claim.
“We verified this information with major tour operators, and it’s not confirmed. Cancellations have been isolated and remain within the normal range,” the union stated.
Tourism between Russia and Azerbaijan has remained stable, with travel firms continuing to offer packages and flights to Baku and other destinations without interruption.
