Armenia’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the Russian ambassador in Yerevan and delivered an official diplomatic note, expressing strong objections to recent statements and media coverage from Moscow.

The note condemns comments made by Russian State Duma members, who criticized actions taken by Armenian law enforcement to prevent an alleged attempted coup. Armenian officials called the remarks not only “unexpected” but also “outrageous,” accusing Russian lawmakers of interfering in the country’s internal affairs.

In addition, Yerevan voiced a strong protest against what it described as openly unfriendly propaganda directed at the Armenian government by Russian state and pro-Kremlin media outlets.
