Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
According to a correspondent from Report on assignment in Abu Dhabi, the two leaders welcomed the progress achieved in implementing the outcomes of the Washington Peace Summit, which was hosted and witnessed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The sides stressed the importance of maintaining positive momentum in advancing the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a bilateral basis.
Aliyev and Pashinyan noted that both societies are already experiencing the tangible benefits of peace. They expressed satisfaction with the launch of bilateral trade, the continued export of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as the transit of grain and other goods from third countries to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory.
The leaders agreed to continue exploring opportunities to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
They also welcomed mutual visits by civil society representatives and agreed on the need to broaden confidence-building measures.
During the meeting, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan discussed the implementation of the TRIPP project and other connectivity initiatives.
The Azerbaijani president and the Armenian prime minister reaffirmed their readiness to continue efforts to further strengthen peace and stability between the two countries and agreed to maintain contacts in support of the bilateral normalization process.

On February 4, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held an expanded-format meeting in Abu Dhabi.
The talks took place with the participation of official delegations from both countries. No detailed information on the agenda of the meeting was disclosed at the time.
Abu Dhabi has previously served as a neutral venue for contacts between Baku and Yerevan. The meeting was held amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at advancing the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
