Ramiz Mehdiyev, the former head of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration, has been questioned again as a defendant in an ongoing criminal investigation led by the Main Investigation Department of the State Security Service.
According to the Gününsəsi outlet, investigators conducted the latest questioning at Mehdiyev’s residence due to health-related concerns.
The report says Mehdiyev was asked questions related to Ali Kerimli, chairman of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, as well as Abbas Abbasov, a former first deputy prime minister.
Mehdiyev is charged under several articles of Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code, including actions aimed at the seizure of state power, treason, and the laundering of assets obtained through criminal activity.
By decision of the Sabail District Court, a preventive measure in the form of four months of house arrest has been imposed on Mehdiyev.
