In January-October this year, Azerbaijan imported 9,708 tons of beef (fresh, chilled, and frozen) worth $39.8 million.
According to calculations based on data from the State Statistics Committee show that the value of beef imports increased by 2% year-on-year, while volumes declined by 0.3%.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported beef from:
Ukraine – $23.2 million (-7%) totaling 5,125 tons (-10%);
Brazil – $7.7 million (+27%) totaling 2,482 tons (+22%);
Belarus – $4.7 million (+18%) totaling 1,052 tons (+3%);
India – $3 million (+43%) totaling 920 tons (+33%);
Russia – $521,000 (-43%) totaling 78.1 tons (-48%).
Notably, for the first time in the past 14 years (with publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011), Azerbaijan imported beef from Canada, totaling 0.03 tons valued at $600.
For comparison, in 2024, 59% of the 12,000 tons of beef imported into Azerbaijan came from Ukraine.
