The U.S. Embassy in Baku has announced via its official Facebook page that applications are now open for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The application deadline is December 23.
In the post, the embassy highlighted one of the program’s alumni, Dr. Bahruz Ahadov, a recent Fulbright Visiting Scholar at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Dr. Ahadov is a leading expert in satellite remote sensing, specializing in InSAR and GNSS technologies.
His research focuses on crustal deformation, earthquake dynamics, and mud volcano activity in the Eastern Mediterranean and Caucasus regions. With the support of a Fulbright scholarship, Dr. Ahadov applied advanced satellite technologies to monitor natural hazards and to study climate and weather patterns.
The embassy noted that the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is aimed at researchers interested in international academic collaboration and in pursuing projects with global impact.
