The opening of regional communications in the South Caucasus will strengthen economic ties with member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
Speaking at a meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council in Moscow, Pashinyan noted that recent positive developments in the region are creating new opportunities for deeper economic cooperation, TASS reported.

“I would like to emphasize that the positive changes taking place in the region are opening up new opportunities to deepen economic cooperation, and the unblocking of regional communications can become an important factor in expanding regional ties and strengthening economic resilience for all countries of the broader region,” Pashinyan said.
The Armenian prime minister also welcomed the decision by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to unblock transit for cargo shipments destined for Armenia through Azerbaijani territory.
“This is one of the significant achievements in the process of establishing peace and stability in our region,” Pashinyan added.
