BP has introduced a new digital oversight platform in Azerbaijan designed to enhance the safety and integrity of the country’s major pipeline systems.
The “Abriox Remote Monitoring System” (RMS) is now in operation, BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Ltd corrosion and materials engineer David Beshitadze said at the Asset Integrity, Corrosion and Coatings Conference 2025 in Baku, Report noted.
Beshitadze explained that the RMS platform enables real-time tracking of electrical parameters along pipelines as well as the performance of transformer–rectifier units – a critical component of corrosion protection systems.
“RMS allows us to detect changes immediately and identify risks early. This strengthens safety and makes operational decision-making faster and more effective,” he said.
The new technology also improves the precision of corrosion-protection data and facilitates instant detection of abnormal conditions. According to BP, the RMS platform has already been rolled out across the company’s major pipelines running through Azerbaijan and plays a central role in BP’s broader strategy for pipeline integrity and long-term asset protection.
