Baku authorities have launched an investigation after a 14-year-old girl gave birth in a city hospital on Thursday.
According to reports from Qafqazinfo, the teenager – born in 2011 – delivered a baby girl earlier today. The case immediately drew attention due to the mother’s age.
Lumu Israfilli, a spokesperson for the Interior Ministry, confirmed the incident and said police have opened a probe to determine the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy and whether criminal conduct was involved.
