President Aliyev thanked the UAE leader for the greetings and asked Sheikh Zayed to convey his own warm regards in return. Aliyev recalled Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s visit to Azerbaijan and Karabakh in September, as well as their meetings in both Baku and Abu Dhabi, describing them as important milestones in strengthening political dialogue.

Strategic partnership and major energy cooperation

Aliyev stressed that relations between the two countries have reached the level of strategic partnership, noting the high degree of political alignment and the growing range of joint projects.

He highlighted particularly strong cooperation in renewable energy, calling the UAE a “strategic partner” in Azerbaijan’s green energy transition. Several major agreements have already been signed, and Aliyev underlined the “significant potential” for further expansion.

The President also noted that Azerbaijan–UAE cooperation carries importance not only for the two countries, but for the wider region.

During the talks, both sides reviewed cooperation in:

  • energy and infrastructure

  • renewable power generation

  • trade and investment

  • oil and gas sectors

  • information technologies

  • mining and natural resources
