Background: Blogger Wanted in Russia for Large-Scale Tax Evasion

Subo previously fled Russia after an investigation was launched into an alleged tax-evasion scheme.
According to Russian authorities, Mammadov and several relatives created a system that allowed them to avoid paying more than 50 million rubles in taxes between 2020 and 2022.

He was later charged in absentia, stripped of Russian citizenship and placed on a wanted list. If detained, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Dubai authorities have not yet commented on the incident or whether any action will be taken against either party.
