Baku and NATO Officials Hold Talks in Brussels on Energy Security, Peace Process

Azerbaijan’s Presidential Assistant and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department, Hikmet Hajiyev, met with ambassadors of NATO member states during his visit to Brussels, the country’s Mission to NATO reported.

Representatives from Turkey, Slovakia, Germany, Canada, Denmark, Bulgaria, Latvia, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Romania, Lithuania, Belgium, Poland, France, Estonia, Italy, Sweden and Finland took part in the meeting, alongside Boris Ruge, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy.

The meeting highlighted the recent visit of NATO ambassadors to Baku and their talks with President Ilham Aliyev, underscoring NATO’s ongoing engagement with Azerbaijan.

According to the mission, the sides discussed a broad agenda, including the Azerbaijan–NATO partnership, prospects for expanded cooperation, Azerbaijan’s contributions to European energy security, and developments related to regional stability and the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process.
