Azerbaijan’s Parliament Ratifies Visa-Free Agreements With Seven Countries

Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis has approved a series of visa-free agreements expanding the country’s travel and diplomatic mobility with partners across several regions.

According to Report, lawmakers reviewed the documents at today’s parliamentary session and voted in favor of the agreements in their first reading.

The ratified package includes full visa-free travel with the Maldives for holders of ordinary passports, marking a new step in boosting tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

In addition, the parliament approved reciprocal visa waivers for holders of diplomatic and service passports with:

  • Angola

  • Djibouti

  • Dominican Republic

  • Guinea-Bissau

  • Suriname

A separate agreement with Bahrain introduces a visa-free regime for diplomatic passport holders.

Lawmakers described the move as another step toward widening Azerbaijan’s international partnerships and facilitating official travel with regions ranging from Africa to the Caribbean and the Gulf.
