A powerful explosion struck the “AFEN Plaza” business center on Ə. Rəcəbli Street in Baku’s Narimanov district on Monday morning, causing extensive structural damage and injuring several people.
According to Report’s correspondent at the scene, the blast is believed to have originated on the first floor, with destruction observed up to the fifth floor of the six-story building. The cause of the explosion has not yet been officially confirmed.
Five People Injured, All Hospitalized
The Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance (TƏBİB) said the explosion was reported to the Republican Emergency Medical Aid Center around 09:00 a.m. on November 24, 2025.
Two ambulance crews were immediately dispatched to the site.
Medical teams provided first aid to five individuals – two men and three women – all suffering from multiple trauma injuries. They were transported to the Clinical Medical Center for further treatment.
Police and Emergency Services Secure the Area
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that police units were deployed to the scene shortly after the incident. Officers secured the perimeter and implemented safety measures to prevent secondary risks.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (FHN) reported that the “112” hotline received the initial alert about an explosion at the facility earlier in the morning. Firefighting units, special rescue teams, and the Baku Regional Center were mobilized.
Emergency operations are ongoing, and authorities say additional information will be provided as the investigation continues.
