Azerbaijan must begin preparing for the creation of a unified South Caucasus market once a peace agreement is implemented, MP Vugar Bayramov said at the “Energy Security and Connectivity” session of the First Azerbaijan–U.S. Think Tank Forum in Baku, Report informs.
Bayramov, who also chairs the Center for Economic and Social Development, noted that for the past 30 years of conflict, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia operated as isolated economic markets.

“With the implementation of a peace agreement, we need to align ourselves with the concept of a single market. This will support economic growth. Peace is important not only politically but in terms of economic dividends,” he said.
Azerbaijan’s Expanding Role in Energy Security
Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its position as a key player in regional and European energy security.
“Azerbaijani natural gas is delivered to EU member states and other partners through the Southern Gas Corridor. Export volumes have increased by nearly 29% compared to 2021,” he stated.
He added that Azerbaijan plans to supply green energy to European markets by 2027, contributing to the continent’s transition to cleaner energy sources.
