Azerbaijan Strikes Gold as Zaretska Tops Islamic Games Karate

Azerbaijani karateka Irina Zaretska (68 kg) claimed the gold medal at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, currently underway in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

According to Report’s correspondent in Riyadh, Zaretska delivered a confident performance in the final, defeating Turkey’s Eda Eltemur with a score of 5:3.

In the men’s 67 kg category, Azerbaijan’s Nuran Rzazade was eliminated in the round of 1/16 after losing to Uzbekistan’s Abdul Wahab Rashidov.
