The average funeral benefit in Azerbaijan will amount to 944 manats in 2026, according to the draft budget of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
The figure is reflected in the Chamber of Accounts’ official review of the fund’s 2026 budget.
Next year, a total of 37.6 million manats is planned to be allocated for funeral payments – slightly less than the 40 million manats earmarked for 2025. The benefit is expected to be paid to 39,821 individuals, compared with 40,673 recipients this year.
From July 1, 2025, the funeral allowance for insured employed persons is set at 600 manats, while for the family members of deceased labor pensioners, the benefit equals three times the minimum age pension, or 960 manats.
The Chamber of Accounts noted that the downward adjustment reflects updated demographic forecasts and the ongoing optimization of social spending.
