President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has issued a series of new administrative decrees announcing multiple appointments and reassignments across the country, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and several district executive authorities.
Change in Nakhchivan Leadership
According to the presidential decree, Fuad Vahid oglu Najafli has been relieved of his duties as the Authorized Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
He will be succeeded by Jeyhun Ramiz oglu Jalilov, who has been appointed as the new presidential representative in Nakhchivan.
Jalilov previously served as Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Nakhchivan from 2023 to 2024, and since 2024 has held the post of Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
District-Level Appointments in Baku and the Regions
Elkhan Ogtay oglu Ibrahimov has been appointed Head of the Executive Authority of Baku’s Nasimi District.
Prior to this, he served as Head of the Executive Authority of Kurdamir District, from which he has now been released.Natig Nushravan oglu Aghayev has been appointed Head of the Executive Authority of Balakan District.
By the same decree, he was dismissed from his previous position as Head of the Executive Authority of Goychay District.Orkhan Chingiz oglu Mursalov has been appointed Head of the Executive Authority of Goychay District.
He was previously Head of the Executive Authority of Gadabay District.Elvin Nazim oglu Pashayev has been appointed Head of the Executive Authority of Gakh District.
He was previously Head of the Executive Authority of Goygol District.Vugar Vahid oglu Novruzov has been dismissed from his post as Head of the Executive Authority of Naftalan City and appointed Head of the Executive Authority of Goygol District.
Elshan Nazim oglu Hasanli has been appointed Head of the Executive Authority of Kurdamir District, replacing Ibrahimov.
All appointments were made by presidential decrees signed by Ilham Aliyev and published on Wednesday, marking one of the most extensive reshuffles in Azerbaijan’s local governance structure in recent months.
