Azerbaijani weightlifter Nuray Abilova delivered an impressive performance at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, earning three bronze medals – two in individual lifts and one in the combined total.
According to Report, the 15-year-old athlete, competing in the 48 kg category, lifted 64 kilograms in the snatch and 79 kilograms in the clean and jerk, finishing with a combined total of 143 kilograms. Her results secured her third place in both disciplines as well as in the overall ranking.
Abilova’s achievement marks another proud moment for Azerbaijan’s national team, which is represented by 174 athletes across 20 disciplines at this year’s Islamic Solidarity Games.
Sports officials praised Abilova’s performance, noting her potential as one of the country’s most promising young athletes in weightlifting. Her success adds to Azerbaijan’s growing list of accomplishments at the Games and reflects the continued development of women’s sports in the nation.
