Azerbaijan aims to vaccinate 95 percent of children nationwide by the end of 2026, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev said during parliamentary discussions on the 2026 state budget package.
According to Musayev, the target exceeds the World Health Organization’s recommendation that at least 90 percent of children in each country be covered by vaccination programs.
.
“Achieving these indicators is crucial for preventing child mortality,” the minister said. “That’s why increasing funding for this sector is of particular importance.”
For 2026, the Ministry of Health is set to receive 274.5 million manats from the state budget, part of which will be directed toward expanding the national immunization program and improving access to healthcare for children.
